4The 9th session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme for specialists from developing countries and countries in transition has been successfully conducted from 5th to 30th of October 2015. The highly skilled specialists in the amount of 19 international fellows from Belarus, Brazil, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Fiji, Kirghizstan, Madagascar, Mexico, Thailand, Turkey and Zimbabwe took part in the ninth session.

The main subject of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme related to “Effective use of energy resources” and devoted to the topical issues within the framework of the programme, such as energy saving, renewable energy, environment protection and development of cooperation in the energy field. The curriculum consisted of 118 academic hours of practical and theoretical classes.

Information and communication technologies (ICT) were used in the framework of the Fellowships Programme as well. The experts from the Northern (Arctic) Federal University and St. Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers conducted online lectures and webinars with appliances of modern computer programmes.

The educational process of the 9th session was led by experienced lecturers and experts from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, International Sustainable Energy Development Centre under the auspices of UNESCO, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Joint Institute for High Temperatures of Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow Energy Institute, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Center for International Industrial Cooperation, Northern (Arctic) Federal University, St. Petersburg State Technological University of Plant Polymers and Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.

During the 9th session international fellows visited various higher educational, scientific and research institutions and also Russian and international events (Expo, Congress, etc.), in particular, Moscow State University of Engineering Ecology, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ERIRAS), Moscow Energy Institute, Renewable Energy and Rural Electrification faculties at Russian Scientific Research Institute of Rural Electrification, Moscow Ecological Center, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences, International Conference and Exhibition “City Energy and Urban Planning, International Conference and Exhibition of the Society of Petroleum Engineers “RO&G SPE”; International Congress for Renewable Energy “Reencon-XXI” and International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations”.

In the end of the course fellows were awarded with certificates and diplomas of successful completion of the 9th session of the UNESCO/ISEDC Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme.
